what a weekend!

This weekend concluded our Creative Connections workshop, and what a workshop it was. Students got together to create a piece inspired by the ASO’s concert theme of “Whimsy and Wonderment,” a process that facilitated by a number of guest artists (Camille Delaney-McNeil, Hana Morford, and Dan Trahey from Baltimore; Rachel Gawell from Boston; and Pete Tashjian from Chicago).

Sympatico’s students put on a fantastic performance of brand new music, an original piece titled A Hero’s Journey.  It was performed as the opening selection of this weekend’s ASO concert – audience members gave our students a standing ovation at the end of the performance.  The piece featured each of Sympatico’s ensembles: JABBA, Keetman, Orff, Singing Eagles, and Strings at Sunrise.  We have uploaded a recording onto our YouTube channel – feel free to check it out!
